Crisp Sugar Cookies

 
 
 
1/2 cup    Butter  
1/2 cup    Cooking oil  
1 cup    Sugar  
2-1/2 cups    Flour  
dash    Salt  
1 tsp    Baking Soda  
1 tsp    Cream of tartar  
1   Egg  
1 tsp    Vanilla  
 
1 Cream butter.
2 Add oil and mix well.
3 Add sugar, mix well.
4 Add egg and vanilla and mix.
5 Sift dry ingredients and add to above mixture.
6 Roll into balls, flatten with fingers (or glass greased on bottom). Either dip in sugar or sprinkle sugar on cookies.
7 Bake 10 minutes at 375°
